Organising a family holiday can be stressful so to help we have come up with a sample seven day itinerary which we hope will help.
D a y T r i p s
Golf:
- Rotonda West has four golf courses literally within walking distance. Special packages can be arranged directly with these courses which allow unlimited play for as little as $50 per week (cart not included). There are a further 20 or so within an hours drive catering for all standards.
Go Fishing:
- Fresh or seawater either by charter or with guides. The variety of sea fishing is some of the best available in the world. Over 20 charter companies operate around the Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda areas. Famous for Tarpon, Snook and Shark as well as many more species. Excursions can be either 4 or 8 hours with all equipment provided.

Sunset Cruise:
- Take a cruise with Grande Tours in Placida. They operate sunset cruises several times a week as well as daily siteseeing tours to secluded islands off the coast. This is an informative and relaxing way to see the variety of birds and ecology of Charlotte Harbour.
Beach Day:
- No trip to the area is complete with a day at the Englewood/Manasota Beach named one of the finest in Florida.
Race Day:
- For those who like a flutter Tampa Bay Downs Racecourse holds racing most days through December to April. Greyhound Racing takes place at Sarasota and Naples and Fort Myers Kennel clubs most days through November to April. Don't forget the floating riverboat casinos in Fort Myers for an entertaining night out.
Adventure Day:
- Try Busch Gardens in Tampa, a Wildliffe Buggy Tour through a Cypress Swamp or an open cockpit flight over some of the most beautiful areas in Florida.
You will see and experience that Florida is not just about Disneyworld. There are truely beautfiul places to see and many many interesting things to do. Of course having rented a modern luxury villa with pool and spa and a secluded lake view you may wish to spend the day chilling out in the villa.
